Ennis Swimming club members have had a great start at the Irish Open LC Nationals gala this weekend at the NAC.
On Thursday evening Hugh McMahon swam a 7 second PB to claim a silver medal in the 1500 freestyle. Then Friday Rory McEvoy claimed silver in the 100 backstroke, while the Ennis 4 x 200 mens relay team of Hugh McMahon, Marley Haugh, Bernard Cahill and Rory McEvoy also won silver medals. This evening Roisin Cahill is in the 100 freestyle final, Lily Barrett competes in the semi final of the 100 butterfly which she reached with a pb in the preliminaries, while Rory has qualified first into the 200 backstroke final.
