National Short Course Results Lisburn - Dec 2016

Rory McEvoy was the star performer for Ennis at the National Short Course Championships that were staged in Lisburn on the first weekend in December. The 18-year-old backstroke specialist McEvoy plundered gold in the 200m Backstroke and two silvers in the 50m and 100m events. The other Ennisman on the individual podium was 17-year-old Marley Haugh as he finished third in the gruelling 1500m Freestyle marathon.

Both McEvoy and Haugh were also on the 400m Freestyle relay team that also included Ryan Shannon and Bernard Cahill that won a silver medal. Ennis sent an 11-strong team to the nationals that attracted elite performers from all over the country, with a number of the Ennis swimmers, apart from the medalists, making A finals
