Grade Qualification Times

The following outlines the qualification times to move from Grade 3 to Grade 2 and from Grade 2 to Grade 1 Gala's

Grade 3 to Grade 2

To be eligible to swim at “Grade 2” Swimmers have to achieve the following times in the

• 100m Freestyle and 100m Individual Medley or
• 100m Freestyle and 2 of the 50m events (Back, Breast or Fly) or
• 100m Individual Medley and 2 of the 50m events (Back, Breast or Fly)

Grade 2 to Grade 1

The Grade 2 Standard can be achieved in the following way:

• Achieve both the 200m Freestyle and the 200m Individual Medley qualifying times or
• 200m Frontcrawl and two of the other 100m events (Back,Breast or Fly) or
• 200m IM and two of the other 100m events (Back,Breast,or Fly)
